Limited Capability for Work (Schedule 2)

This page gives further details of the activities in Schedule 2. These are used in the work capability assessment (WCA) for Universal Credit (UC).

Part 1: Physical disabilities

​

Activity 1: Mobilising unaided by another person with or without a walking stick, manual wheelchair or other aid if such aid is normally or could reasonably be worn or used.

​

(a) Cannot, unaided by another person, either:

(i) mobilise more than 50 metres on level ground without stopping in order to avoid significant discomfort or exhaustion;

or

(ii) repeatedly mobilise 50 metres within a reasonable timescale because of significant discomfort or exhaustion.

(b) Cannot, unaided by another person, mount or descend two steps even with the support of a handrail.

(c) Cannot, unaided by another person, either:

Activity 2: Standing and sitting


(a) Cannot move between one seated position and another seated position located next to one another without receiving physical assistance from another person.
